The Irish Geological Association

Founded in 1959

The Irish Geological Association (IGA) is open to all who are interested in geology in Ireland and beyond. Our members range from professional geologists to beginners of any age. We hold roughly ten lectures a year, usually held in Dublin and currently accessible via Zoom. We also organise geological excursions between Spring and Autumn. These can be day trips, weekend trips, in all parts of Ireland, and we organise a foreign trip most years. Other events include Members’ nights and the AGM.
